vCommander Roles of Superuser and Enterprise Administrator
This article covers setting cost options that affect all of your managed systems. To configure costs for specific parts of your infrastructure, see Configuring Cost Models.
The default currency is $ (Dollar). You can change the currency in the Currency pane. vCommander uses the currency you select in all displays and reports.
|If you choose a currency other than the default, remember that public cloud pricing is set to US dollars. The VM Comparative Economics Report and other cost comparisons in vCommander will not convert or use rates for currencies other than the default.|
There are two options for displaying costs for custom attributes:
•Display total custom attribute costs: All custom attribute costs are displayed as one section of the cost pie chart.
•Display individual custom attribute costs (default): Each custom attribute cost is displayed as an individual section of the cost pie chart.
This setting affects cost pie charts in:
•the Service Catalog
•the Service Request form

vCommander allows you to track up to seven levels of tiered storage costs based on the different types of storage media you use. You can rename six of the seven storage tiers, but you cannot rename the "Undefined" storage tier. You cannot delete storage tiers.
The Undefined storage tier can be used to track the costs of datastores that you do not want to immediately assign to a defined storage tier. For example, use the Undefined storage tier to track new storage requirements and to create reports on new datastores. After reports are created, assign the datastores to an appropriate storage tier.
