Managing Scheduled Tasks

In the Service Portal, if you have permission to schedule tasks, you can also edit the schedule for these tasks.

If you have permission to manage an organization, you can cancel tasks that are:

  • scheduled by members of an organization you manage
  • scheduled to be performed on VMs owned by your organization

Deleting scheduled tasks

If you have scheduled a report, you can delete it at any time before it starts. If you or another Service Portal user has scheduled a command, the fulfillment of a change request, or a rightsizing recommendation for a VM you own, you can cancel it at any time before it starts.

If you have permission to manage an organization, you can cancel the following scheduled tasks:

  • Apply Recommendation (scheduled by a Service Portal user or an administrator, for a VM owned by an organization you manage)
  • Fulfill Change Request (scheduled by a Service Portal user or an administrator, for a VM owned by an organization you manage)
  • Commands (scheduled by a Service Portal user, for a VM owned by an organization you manage)

To cancel a scheduled task:

  1. Go to the Tasks page.
  2. Click Scheduled Tasks.
  3. Select a task in the list.
  4. In the Commands menu, select Delete.

Rescheduling tasks

If you have permission, you can reschedule the following tasks:

  • Reports
  • Apply Recommendation (for VMs you own)
  • Change Request (for VMs you own)
  • Commands (for VMs you own)

To reschedule a task:

  1. Go to the Tasks page.
  2. Click Scheduled Tasks .
  3. Select a task in the list.
  4. In the Commands menu, select Reschedule.
