Getting Started

To get started quickly with vCommander, here are the main tasks:

  1. Add cloud accounts to vCommander.

    You can add any of the following cloud accounts to vCommander as a managed system: an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account, Microsoft Azure subscription, Google Cloud Platform service account, Kubernetes cluster, VMware vCenter server, or Hyper-V SCVMM server.

  2. Retrieve billing data or historical events.
  3. Repeat steps 1-2 for each managed system.
  4. Integrate with directory services.
  5. Configure email integration.

You should have an understanding of vCommander Access Control before you continue.

Getting started with cloud automation

Now you're ready to configure the service request process.

  1. Create organizations
  2. Configure organization quotas
  3. Configure placement strategy
  4. Configure placement attributes
  5. Add entries to the Service Catalog
  6. Create service forms
  7. Prepare an approval and pre-provisioning workflow
  8. Configure provisioning and automated deployment options
  9. Prepare a completion workflow
  10. Go to vCommander Solutions Overview: Views > Solutions > Solutions Overview
